"Designing worship opportunities for the whole family of faith."

The family of faith is comprised of many diverse, yet extremely valuable parts. We are young children, pre-teens, students, parents, grandparents and everything between. We worship in many different styles and cultural languages. Our ministry is guided by the notion that God is the Audience. Our goal is to blend our best worship offerings to give adoration and praise to God. Every Lord's Day at MRPC is a rich opportunity to learn about each other and to offer to the Lord an expression of love from the heart, for when we bond in worship, we are indeed the "whole family of faith", the Church.

In our church, the most important "choir" is the congregation. We strive to bring every worshipper into participation in the congregational singing, whether it is an historic hymn, a majestic chorale, a folk hymn, a praise song, or a Gospel chorus. Every worshipper is a member of that "choir" and owes God his best participation.

The MRPC Ministry of Music and Worship actively contributes to each of our four cornerstones:

Lordship
The Lordship of our Triune God in consistently reflected in the lyrics and biblical content of our worship services and music. Christ's lordship is also modeled and taught in the disciplines of worship and music. We seek to encourage the church to bring all of life into loving obedience to our Lord's authority.

Congregational Life
Throughout Scripture we find that worship and music play an important role in the congregational life of God's people. Historically, people gifted in areas of music ministered to the Lord and to His covenant community. The Music and Worship Ministry seeks to provide numerous opportunities for individuals with skills and talents to minister to the church, and through her, to serve Christ Himself. For more information on these opportunities please visit the Music and Worship Offerings at MRPC portion of our website.

Discipleship
Throughout their time in the Music and Worship Ministry, participants are encouraged to become more and more like the Lord Jesus Christ in all areas of life. They are reminded often that their contributions are far more than mere "performances." They are taught the meaning of true worship and thus exhorted to use their musical gifts with minds and hearts engaged. Participants also learn about the historical background and the theological richness of their music, which allows them to better appreciate God's faithfulness to His people throughout history. His faithfulness inspires our own.

Missions
The Music and Worship Ministry supports the church-wide emphasis on evangelism and missions. This occurs not just at our annual conferences and special events, but by hosting a number of musical outreach events. This includes annual events such as the Madrigal Feaste, the Patriotic Pops concert, and large-scale seasonal performances of masterworks such as Handel's Messiah. We have featured concerts by recording artists such as Buddy Greene and international groups such as the African Children's Choir, Kiev Symphony Orchestra and Chorus and Ballet Magnificat has been among our outreach events. Each such occasion is coordinated with the purpose of welcoming the community and proclaiming the good news of Christ through the ministry of music.
