Women’s Ministry seeks to come alongside women and help them grow by offering opportunities to learn more about our faith and our Savior, Jesus Christ.  Through studying the Bible and learning from other women, we are better able to extend God’s Kingdom, as we remind ourselves of the Gospel and as we share it with others.  Please join us in the following:

Bible Studies
Women’s Ministry offers Bible studies for women in the daytime and in the evenings.  Women may choose to attend a monthly Bible study (meeting in homes on Tuesdays) on Knowing God, by J. I. Packer, a study that will help us enter into a deeper knowledge of God, which will stir our hearts to love Him more.  Women may also choose to attend a weekly Bible study on Wednesday evenings at church (childcare provided):  What Were We Put in the World to Do?, a journey through Genesis 1-32 that will help build a strong, rich foundation so that we might have a better understanding of all of Scripture; or Bound for Glory, which will look at God’s covenant with us throughout Scripture, enriching personal and corporate worship and anchoring our heart with its unchanging promises.

Mentoring
Women have the opportunity and privilege to meet together in pairs or in small groups to grow as they learn to follow Jesus.  If you are interested in meeting intentionally as a spiritual mother or spiritual daughter (or both!) in a pair or small group setting, please contact Wendy Henry at 404-429-0413.

Mentor Moms
Mentor Moms is a ministry based on God’s call in Titus 2 for wise women to counsel younger women.  The practical, Biblical teaching focuses on being a wife and mother, as well as growing as a Christian.  In fall 2009, we will be encouraged and challenged through a Mom to Mom study by Linda Schultz Anderson.  Women will be grouped at a table with 6-8 other women in a similar lifestage, as well as with a Mentor Mom.  Weekly meeting times are Tuesday mornings from 9:15-11:15 at the church (childcare provided, but limited availability).  If you have questions about Mentor Moms, please contact Judy Temple at 864-244-5502.  If you would like to register for Mentor Moms, please contact Elaine Graybeal at 864-420-0035.  You may join in at any time of the year, although childcare is limited.

PresWIC
Mitchell Road Presbyterian Church is a member of the Calvary Presbytery, a group of PCA churches in upstate South Carolina .  Women from all churches in the Calvary Presbytery meet twice a year as PresWic, for a retreat each fall and for an annual meeting in late winter.

Women in the Church (WIC) at a National Level
Women from MRPC can connect with other women and gain training in a national forum through an annual WIC conference.  The 2010 Women’s Ministry Leadership Training Conference will take place February 25-27, 2010 , in Atlanta , Georgia .  General Assembly, our denomination’s annual meeting, also has seminars especially for women.  The next General Assembly will meet June 28-July 2 in Nashville, Tennessee .
