- A basic understanding of MRPC's mission, vision, ministries, doctrinal distinctives and government.
- A knowledge of the steps for church membership.
- A general ideas on how and where to get involved in the life of MRPC
- Some new relationships with others at MRPC.
Process of joining MRPC
- Pray for the Lord's wisdom and guidance in the important decision.
- Participate in our MRPC Membership Seminar to gain further introduction and information.
- Complete a membership information form.
- Interview with two elders - to get to know you better, to hear about your faith in Christ, to answer any questions you have, and extend you a welcome into our church community.
- Applicants are formally received by taking vows before the session of elders. If you are a member of another church we will gladly write for a letter of transfer.
- Baptism, if you have not yet received this sacrament.
- New members are introduced to the congregation during a worship service.
What about our children joining?
Your children may also be received into membership as a non-communing (and baptized if they have not been already). When your children are around 12 years of age, we encourage families to have them participate in our Communicants class. Your children should participate in this class, profess faith in Christ, and received into full communing membership before partaking of the Lord's Supper.
